The History of St. Petersburg: The Events of Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Blockade

Dedicated to the memory of the victims of Leningrad’s siege events will be held on September 8, 2013, in St. Petersburg. On September 8, 1941, the hostile ring around the besieged city was locked.

The mourning ceremonies of laying the wreaths and the flowers will go on this day at the memorial plaque on 14 Nevsky Prospect, on Piskarevskoe Memorial Cemetery, and on the other burial places of soldiers, defenders and residents of the besieged Leningrad - now St. Petersburg.

The cultural and educational events, exhibitions, memory watches of the students of educational institutions, veterans and blockade city residents reunions, and the hematic movies screenings will occur everywhere around the city.
