Russian Memorials: "Fortress Day" Festival in Oreshek Fortification

On September 7, 2013, the "Fortress Day" festival is taking place in Oreshek (that means “nutlet”) Fortress of Leningrad Region. Festival is held in honor of the 690-th anniversary of the Oreshek Fortress and the 311-th anniversary of capturing Nöteborg (Swedish: nöte - nut, borg – fortress, town) fortress by the Russian troops.

A historical reconstruction and interactive programs are in the festival’s agenda.

The festival guests will be able to take part in the master classes on diverse techniques of painting and applied art. Related to the history of Oreshek fortress educational game is decided for younger visitors.
