Timed to the G20 member countries’ leaders summit: Art project “The Russian real” in Saint-Petersburg

From 2 to 10 September 2013 in St. Petersburg RIA Novosti, with the participation of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg, the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Anna Akhmatova Museum at the Fountain House present the project “Week of Photography in St. Petersburg”.

Top photo novels of Russia and the different sides of its life are combined in an art project RIA Novosti “the Russian real” and will be presented in St. Petersburg from 2 to 8 September 2013. The project is dedicated to the summit of the “Group of Twenty” (G20).

The visitors of exhibitions will learn about works by well-known photographers of the “Big Twenty”, which were made during a two-week photo expedition to Russia, organized on the eve of the summit.

The photo exhibition “The Russia real” will run in the Marble Palace of the Russian Museum from 2 to 10 September. Another version of the project will be presented to citizens in the Alexander Garden, where from 2 to 8 September will be an exhibition in the open air. September 5 during the Night of photos RIA Novosti invites visitors to the city of St. Petersburg to watch the 3D-evening show at the Palace Square, during which the front elevation of the building of the General Staff will be projected photographs taken during the expedition. The Week of Photos at the Hermitage Youth Center will also host lectures by photographers - the project participants.

The main theme of the project is the ratio of people living in Russia, to the space in which they live.

At the end of the expedition photographers of RIA Novosti will release a unique gift album for a summit of G20.

A special project of the Week of photogrpah - action “Media Night in the Garden of the Fountain House”, Hopscotch ", which will take place in the night of 6 to 7 September. The Park of Fountain House will bring together classical and contemporary art.
