Publishing and Book Distribution: VII Krasnoyarsk Book Fair

VII Annual Krasnoyarsk Book Fair (KRYAKK) is being held from October 31 to November 4, 2013.

This ranking Krasnoyarsk as the center of literary culture long-term project is intended to bring together the publishers and the book distributors from the central Russian regions, and the Far East, Siberia and the Ural cities. Krasnoyarsk Book Fair offers an innovative approach to the popularization of reading: the presentation of the book reality in current multimedia cultural ambiance, the analysis of evolution and transformation of the book in competition with media art and cutting-edge information carriers.

The project’s objectives are:

- Propaganda of books and reading as cultural and leisure activities;

- Presentation of the best Russian publishers and the intellectual books spreading advantage in Siberia;

- Integration of fragmented cultural communities of the Siberian and Far Eastern regions;

- Readership expanding and the literary culture improvement.

Traditionally, the Book Festival program includes a variety of activities. This year fair’s framework theme is "The Cultural Memory or the Memory of Culture."

In addition to traditional meetings with authors and the presentations of new publications, within a literary program a new fair format will be offered - dedicated to the traditions of the modern Russian school of poetry the international poetic conference.

The professional program will include the workshop cluster for the library community, journalists and designers. "Mayakovsky and Rodchenko" banner action will be launched as a part of the design program.
