Libraries of Russia: The VII International Scientific-Practical Conference “The Preservation of Library Collections” in Saint-Petersburg

October 23-24, 2013 the Federal Conservation Center of Library Collections of the National Library of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation holds in Saint-Petersburg the VII International Scientific-Practical Conference “The Preservation of Library Collections: scientific, economic and practical aspects”.

At the plenary sessions and specialized sections is expected to consider the following issues:

- Common problems of preservation of literary monuments of culture and methods of prevention of injuries;

- Modern trends in the development of the theory and practice of conservation of cultural heritage;

- Research in the field of conservation of library, archive and museum collections;

- The development and implementation of innovative technologies in the field of protection and preservation of cultural monuments;

- Ethical and economic aspects of book preservation of cultural heritage.

Also in the course of the conference on October 23-24, 2013 it will be held the National seminar “Development of regional centers of preservation of library collections of Russia” and “Main directions for the development of the preservation of library collections of the Russian Federation for 2011-2012”.
