The Vienna Opera launches an online portal for the broadcasting of shows in high resolution. Now anyone who has access to the Internet can become a patron of the Vienna Opera. The Theatre House, more than a century ago, who made its presentation available to all the citizens of Vienna, regardless of class, has carried out  according to Director Dominique Meyer “the most important project for the last time”. The premiere is scheduled for live broadcast on October 27, but now at the project website can be found the first complete recording of Wagner’s “Fairies”.

According to Mayer, tickets for remote viewing can be purchased directly at the official website. “And the audience during the show itself will be able to choose between the two “pictures” - the general plan of the stage and orchestrated record with eight cameras placed throughout the hall, including, in the orchestra pit”, - said Meyer.

In addition, owners of smart phones and tablets, having downloaded the app, will be able to see at their gadgets the subtitles of operas - so far only in the original languages - German and English. In December it will be added the opportunity to watch scores of productions that are automatically synchronized with the action on the main screen using the special “watermarks” that are embedded in a music track.

According to the director of the Vienna Opera, this season will show online viewers 17 productions live, which will open a series of “Der Rosenkavalier” by Richard Strauss. Next will be followed “The Magic Flute” by Mozart, “Tristan and Isolde” by Wagner and “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky, choreographed by Nureyev.
