Russian regions: The exhibition “Gorky and his circle” in Nizhny Novgorod

At the “Russian Museum of Photography” (Nizhny Novgorod) on October 16, 2013 opens the exhibition “Gorky and his circle”.

The event is held as part of the VI M. Gorky Russian Theatre Festival.

The well-known proletarian writer Maxim Gorky and the famous Russian photographer Maxim Dmitriev have had long-term friendly relations. M. Dmitriev has photographed M. Gorky during the entire Nizhny Novgorod period of writer’s life: from 1896 to 1904. He created a gallery of portraits of Alexei Maximovich Gorky, Catherine Pavlovna Peshkova and their children. Some part of the images is stored in the photo collections of the Russian Museum and will be presented at the exposition. 

The exhibition will run till October 24.
