Information technology and libraries: The National Conference “Electronic Resources and Technology of Library: modern solutions, innovations, opportunities” in Krasnoyarsk

The National Scientific-Practical conference “Electronic Resources and Technology of Library: modern solutions, innovation, opportunities” is held on 9-11 October 2013 in the city of Krasnoyarsk, on the basis of the State Universal Scientific Library of the Krasnoyarsk Krai.

The conference is attended by over 150 specialists of libraries, publishing houses, aggregators, electronic resources, IT- companies of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tomsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Saratov, and the republics of Khakassia and Tatarstan. They will discuss topics related to determining the place of libraries in a digital communication system, the prospects for the development of library and information activities on the basis of computer and Internet technologies, the development of electronic libraries and digitization.

As part of the conference it is organized the school of the system of IRBIS with the developers of the State Public Scientific and Technical Library. The program also includes a round table “Digital libraries: technology, design, solutions”, creative workshop “Libraries and Social Media”, an exhibition of new computer equipment and technology for libraries and library products and services.

During the conference will be open a remote electronic reading room of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
