Information technology and libraries: The International Conference “Adaptation of tasks and functions of the scientific library to the requirements of the development of digital information resources” in Kiev

The International Scientific Conference “Adaptation of tasks and functions of the academic library to the requirements of the development of the digital information resources” is held in Kiev, at the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, on 8-10 October 2013.

At the plenary and breakout sessions, seminars and round tables it is supposed to discuss the following issues:

- Formation of a National Distributed Resource: integration and cooperation efforts of libraries and information centers.

- Development of information and analytical activities in the digital space.

- Biography and the biographical reading in the age of information revolution: the place and role of libraries.

- Historical and cultural foundations of libraries: the scientific description and presentation of digital resource.

- New trends in the development of modern foreign Library.

- Bibliometrics and the library: world experience, Ukrainian perspective.

- Cataloging of digital resources.

- References in the electronic environment.

- Regulatory support of library and information work.

During the conference will be also held:

- The Council meeting of the Board of Directors of Research Libraries and Information Centers of academies - Members of the International Association of Academies of Sciences;

- Conference of the Association of Ukrainian libraries;

- Exhibitions of publishing houses products and booksellers, the publications of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, a demonstration of information resources.
