Territory of Russia: Results of the voting for the symbol of Russia named

It was completed the final voting in the contest to select symbols of Russia, which identified ten winning attractions, according to the website of the project “Russia 10”.

The multimedia project “Russia-10”, implemented by the RGS and the TV channel “Russia–1”, was conceived as a nationwide voting, in which residents will be able to select 10 of the most interesting sights in all regions of the country.

The ten winners were the Kolomna Kremlin, the mosque “Heart of Chechnya”, the Rostov Kremlin, the Pskov Kremlin (Krom) , Peterhof, the Mamaev Kurgan and Sculpture “The Motherland Calls”, Kizhi , the Trinity-Sergius Lavra , the Lake Baikal and the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.

The multimedia project competition “Russia 10” was held from March 25 to October 6, 2013. The purpose of the project - to maintain a sustained interest in our country as an object of national and international tourism, a story about the unique geographical, architectural and historical sites in Russia, the formation of a new wave in the regions of “geopatriotism”. 

One of the most important functions of the project is to promote the image of Russia as a unique country with a rich cultural and natural heritage. The popularization of the greatest monuments of architecture and nature will highlight the diversity and originality of Russia. The task of the project is a choice of ten new visual symbols of Russia by popular vote.

To participate in the competition during the preliminary polls conducted in the regions of Russia, was selected more than seven hundred objects - the most outstanding monuments of nature, architecture and culture of our country. Each of the subjects of the Federation submitted to the contest all the best, interesting and worthy of attention.
