History and culture: Exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Kazan Railway Station, in Moscow

October 7, 2013 the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture opens the exhibition “The Kazan Railway Station. 100 years”.

The exhibition is timed to the two dates: the 140th anniversary of A. V. Schhusev and the 100th anniversary of the design of one of his major works - the Kazan Railway Station. The centerpiece of the exhibition will take the layout of the building of the Kazan Railway Station, established in 1915.

In addition, the museum will feature rare drawings and sketches of facades and interiors of the building, which has been built 27 years since 1913, as well as photographs of the construction. Besides these images it will be exhibited photographs of 1910s, which depict Shchusev himself and his workshop.

Also on October 7 the museum will host the conference on the topic “Architectural Heritage of Russia: Past and Present”.
