Russian language: Videoconference “Library systems as a cognitive resource of the Russian language integration in the global communicative space”

October 4, 2013 on the initiative of Rossotrudnichestvo, in the framework of scientific and pedagogic meeting of Russian language teachers from the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Baltic countries "Russian language – a universal human code of cultural community and historical correlation," the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University hosted a video conference "Library systems as a cognitive resource of the Russian language integration into the global communicative space." Head of the collections preservation on tangible media, Presidential Library, M. N. Bystrova spoke at the conference presenting the "Language as a means of communication and formation of national identity: the case of the Presidential Library collection "Russian language"."

The video conference organized at the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University, was attended by specialists from state, municipal, academic libraries of Russia, the CIS countries and the Baltic states.

The conference also featured presentations on the role of Belarusian libraries in promoting Russian literature; on the Russian language as a way of joining the Russian culture in library systems; on the experience of the Russian Language Center in the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library.
