Information and society: The meeting of the Council of heads of state information agencies of the Commonwealth in Chisinau

The expansion of cooperation on a common information space of the CIS, as well as joint projects are discussed in the Moldovan capital at the XVII Meeting of the members of the Council of heads of state information agency of the Commonwealth (Informsovet of the CIS).

The agenda includes such issues as the preparation for the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the creation of an electronic calendar “Important dates and events of the Commonwealth”, joint creative competitions, the use of modern information and communication technologies in the process of interaction between agencies. Special attention will be given to coverage of events in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, the preservation and development of historical, cultural values between the peoples of the Commonwealth. The meeting participants will also discuss issues related to lighting Tourism Year, which is announced in the CIS in 2014. It is supposed to focus on activities aimed at the development of domestic tourism in each of the states and the Commonwealth as a whole. Training and exchange of professional specialists is one more question on the agenda of the meeting.

The Informsovet of the CIS is an important tool to enhance integration and cooperation of the Commonwealth. It is chaired by Director General of ITAR-TASS Sergey Mikhailov.

The activity of Informsovet is aimed at ensuring coordination and cooperation of CIS countries in the field of information, creation of favorable conditions for the smooth flow of information and effective exchange of professional experience, strengthening Media Partnership. One of its main tasks the Informsovet of the CIS considers promotion of new media technologies.
