Information technology and society: “Yandex” has given to mobile developers the tools for speech recognition

The Russian Internet company “Yandex” has developed its own technology for speech recognition and will give third-party developers to implement a based on it voice interfaces to mobile application using the tool library Yandex SpeechKit, told at the conference YaC-2013 the director of the project SpeechKit Denis Filippov.

Yandex SpeechKit tool library will allow third party developers to implement high-quality programs in Russian-language voice interfaces. Currently, the language model of “Yandex” has about 3.5 billion words recorded during training on hundreds of millions of search queries.

- According to our internal tests the quality of its recognition of the Russian language is better than the competition. And today we want to announce Yandex SpeechKit – a multi-platform library of tools that implement speech recognition, - said the head of the project SpeechKit Denis Filippov.

The Yandex SpeechKit library is still available to developers of applications for Android and iOS.
