
History and culture: The exhibition “Dagestan in the eyes of Eugene Lanceray” opens in the Museum-Reserve “Kolomenskoye”
November 27, 2013 in the exhibition halls of the Rich yard in Kolomenskoye (Moscow) with the participation of the Moscow State Integrated Museum, the P. S. Gamzatova Dagestan Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of the History of Makhachkala and private collectors is opening a unique exhibition project "Dagestan in the eyes of Eugene Lanceray". The exhibition is devoted to the bright page of the famous Russian artist Evgeny Evgenievich Lanceray (1875-1946), who came from a famous Russian artistic family.
The P. S. Gamzatova Dagestan Museum of Fine Arts and descendants of the artist will present at the exhibition more than 400 exhibits.
The exhibition will first to Moscow audiences a unique collection of drawings, watercolors, gouaches and paintings created by Lanceray in different years and which is stored in Dagestan at the P. S. Gamzatova Makhachkala Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition includes landscapes, views of Dagestan villages.
The exhibition also features magnificent works of decorative art dating from the period of stay Lanceray in Dagestan. The exhibiting of Dagestan art objects allows you to create the image of Dagestan, which once appeared before the eyes of Eugene Lanceray.
