Book publishing: FSO published memoirs of state security officers, guarding Joseph Stalin

Legends and myths still accompanying the name of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin can now be dispelled. There was released a collection of materials prepared by the Federal Protective Service (FSO) and the journal "Historical Journal", which first presented documents and memoirs of people surrounding and guarding the "Great Leader".

"All of these materials have until recently been classified, they are stored in closed archives and are published for the first time", - said at the presentation of the publication FSO deputy director Viktor Tarasov. He assured future readers: "We did not set the task to analyze the political decisions of Stalin, but only submit materials related to the activities of the State Guard, which are of great historical interest".

The published collection. It is called "Life in the shadow of leaders" and is made up of memories and notes of heads of security of Stalin Nikolai Vlasik and Nicholai Novik, who led the MGB Protection Department in 1952-1953, as well as officers of the State Guard. Also for the first time are published biographies of people whose lives and service were directly related not only to the protection of the first persons of the country, but also the provision of their way of life. This list consists of not only colonels and generals, but also ordinary matron and waitresses in the rank of sergeant Security.
