Society and culture: The festival of Slavic culture held in Argentina

The Festival of Slavic culture “Mother Rus’” was successfully held in the Argentine capital. It was organized by the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots with the support of the Russian Embassy in Argentina.

Residents and visitors of Buenos Aires on November 23 have joined the Russian culture and one day plunged into the atmosphere of the festival, which had prevailed in the central avenue of the capital just a few meters from the government palace “Casa Rosada” (“Pink House”). Dozens of creative teams of Russian compatriots specially came from all over the country to perform on the stage of Russian folk songs and dances, as well as contemporary works.

Russia’s ambassador in Argentina Victor Koronelli called the festival of Slavic culture festival “the largest and most spectacular event, which is organized throughout the year and represent our people in Argentina”. He noted “a high level of artistic skill, stunning festive spirit and sense of patriotism”. “For example, by this festival we can see how strong and meaningful our Russian diaspora in Argentina is, and how they maintain our common cultural traditions and cultural richness, it is worth it”, - said the diplomat.
