
History of Russia: Exhibition “In the service of Russia” from the collection of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia in Barnaul
November 19, 2013 at the State Museum of History of Literature, Art and Culture of Altai (Barnaul) opened the exhibition “In the Service of Russia” from the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (Moscow).
The exposition features rare exhibits such as posters, decorations and awards defenders of Port Arthur (the Russian-Japanese War, 1904). One section of the exhibition is devoted to the history and development of military-patriotic education in the interwar years (1920-1930), and the role of youth (YCL and Young Pioneer) organizations in society.
A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to the heroism of the people in the Great Patriotic War: Among the exhibits you can see personal belongings of Marshal of the USSR Paul Rybalko and died during the liberation of Kiev General Nikolai Vatutin.
Another section is devoted to modern military history, heroes peacekeeping and counter-terrorism operations. Here are the contributions of the participants of photo documentary wars in Afghanistan and Chechnya, as well as exhibits relating to the activities of children’s patriotic clubs.
A traveling exhibition will continue its work at the State Museum of History of Literature, Art and Culture of Altai until December 13.
