In the coming four years the Organization of United Nations on educational, scientific and cultural issues (UNESCO) sees its main task in the logical extension of the policy of humanization of international relations. The fidelity to this intention was emphasized by CEO of the organization Irina Bokova. She was speaking at a ceremony in honor of the beginning of her second term in Paris.

“We must affirm the fundamental principles of humanity - human dignity, equality, solidarity, - said the head of UNESCO. - Quality education transforms life, it is a vital tool for development. The culture helps to come to reconciliation after conflict.
The sustainable development also contributes to the strengthening of the role of science”.

Bokova noted the important tasks of UNESCO in the field of communications. “We believe it is necessary to promote the development of mass media, journalism training, enhance safety of press workers”, - she said.
