Chairman of the Federation Council: Valentina Matvienko applied for the need of the system of the spread of Russian language in Eurasia
Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, on November 18, 2013 held in Moscow a meeting of the Integration club on “The common historical roots as a factor in the formation of the Eurasian Union”.
At a meeting are considered actual problems of modern geopolitics, analyzed the historical background of the transformation of the Eurasian Union in one of the poles of the modern world, the development of intercultural dialogue and the support of the Russian language in Eurasia.
Valentina Matvienko said that the strengthening of the Russian language will be a powerful unifying factor in Eurasia.
“Eurasian integration is historically a natural way for the cooperation of the countries of the CIS. And the Russian language today remains a powerful unifying starting point for millions of people, so a special importance is strengthening its position in the Eurasian space”, - said V. Matvienko.
The Speaker of the Federation Council also considers it necessary to focus on the training of a sufficient number of Russian teachers.
According to the head of the Federation Council, individual activities and decisions in this area is no longer enough. “We must move to create a comprehensive system of the Russian language”, - said V. Matvienko.
