World history: “The World War I: The Prologue of the XX century” in Kaliningrad

November 14, 2013 the Kaliningrad Art Gallery hosts an exhibition “The World War I: The Prologue of the XX century” - a project from the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (Moscow), timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the World War I.

The purpose of the project: the promotion and actualization of knowledge about the World War I, its significance in the history of the XX century, as well as the perpetuation of the historical memory of its participants, tracking trends in the prevention of armed conflicts.

The exhibition features paintings and drawings on various events of the war, a collection of popular prints, posters, greeting cards during the World War I, Russian, French, Italian, English and German collections of postcards, geographical maps, photographs, letters, documents, clothing and personal belongings of soldiers.
