World culture: Exhibition of engravings “World of Albrecht Durer” in Kaluga

At the Kaluga Regional Art Museum opened the exhibition of engravings “World of Albrecht Durer” from the collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.

The exhibition is the unique for this city, as is first presents genuine prints of the prominent German master of engraving Albrecht Durer.

Albrecht Durer (1471-1528) is the famous German artist of the Renaissance, who influenced on the development of the technique of engraving. Works by Albrecht Durer are distinguished with desire for spaciousness, extensionality and realism portrayed. A wonderful balance between the detail of objects and the perception of the integrity of the composition dramatically highlights the works of Durer among similar works of his time.

The exhibition features 60 engravings on wood and copper. It is based on well-known series: “Apocalypse”, “Passions” and “Life of Mary”.

The exhibition will run till December 15, 2013.
