World history: Inter-museum exhibition, dedicated to the Order of Malt, at the Gatchina Palace and Estate Museum

November 14, 2013 at the Priory Palace (Gatchina) opens the inter-museum exhibition “The Sign of the highest piety”. In the shadow of a Maltese cross”, dedicated to the Maltese Order of St. John of Jerusalem and the Russian period of its history.

The exhibition is timed to two important events: in 2013 is celebrated 900 years since the publication of Bull of Pope Paschal II on the creation of the Order (1113) and the 215th anniversary of the entry of the Russian Emperor Paul I in the position of Grand Master. The exposition features rare monuments of book art of the XVI century, engraving images of the great masters of the Order, badges and etc.

The exhibition will run till November 14 to March 27, 2014.
