History of Russia: Scientific-Practical Conference “Historical and Archaeological heritage of the Kulikovo Field and adjacent areas” in the Tula region
November 12-15, 2013 on the Kulikovo field for the fifth time is carried out the Scientific and Practical conference “Historical and Archaeological heritage of the Kulikovo Field and adjacent areas. The City of the Middle Ages and early modern times”.
The Kulikovo field, known for its famous Mamai, is a unique historical and natural area with abundant natural and archaeological heritage. The conference is designed to help attract attention to the general public, local historians, historians studying the process to the problems of the Middle Ages and the history of Eastern Europe and the revitalization of the scientific community in the study of the Kulikovo Field and the southern borders of the Russian state.
During the conference will be discussed various research questions that examine the history and archeology of medieval cities and their surroundings, cities of the 16-17 centuries. A special place in the conference will be devoted to coverage of the latest research findings in the field of archeology of the Don region.
The conference will feature leading researchers and museum centers in Russia and Ukraine. The meeting will be attended by about 70 scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Kaluga, Kursk, Bryansk, Tambov, Elets, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kiev, Chernigov, Lutsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Vologda, Pereslavl-Zallesky, Tver.
