Memory of Russia: The Ceremonial March Dedicated to the 72nd Anniversary of November 7, 1941, Military Parade in Moscow

A solemn march dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the military parade that took place on November 7, 1941, on Russian capital’s Red Square was held on November 7, 2013, in Moscow.

This year, the solemn march has been held on Red Square already for the eleventh time. The march was attended by the Moscow garrison soldiers, the Presidential Regiment Cavalry group, the Honor Guard of the Separate Commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment, Moscow Suvorov Military School pupils, the representatives of Moscow Children movement, the military-patriotic clubs fellows, scouts, Moscow cadet schools students.

"Our main idea is to restore the historic parade on Nov. 7, 1941, as it was" - said the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee of Moscow, Alexander Chistyakov. - "Therefore, the soldiers will be dressed in historical uniforms of the time. With the Ministry’s of Defense help we will get a chance to set going the participated in the last march carts as well. There also will be the Cavalry: Kremlin Regiment is traditionally helping us with this. Of course, the Banner group will be set of the banners of the divisions, regiments, formations, and armies that have taken part in the Battle of Moscow. Related to the events of the Battle of Moscow historical part will be shown before the march. So, there will be a small theatrical performance on Red Square."

Alexander Chistyakov said that the weapons and military equipment of 1939-1941 years would parade as well. After the ceremony ends, the materiel will rest for visual inspection, and everyone will be able to get closer to the tanks and vehicles. "The invitees in the stands will be the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the partakers of the nineteen forty-one’s historical parade," - said the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee.
