Society and culture: IX Festival “Children’s Days in St. Petersburg”

IX Festival "Children's Days in St. Petersburg" is held November 1-17, 2013.

"Children's days in St. Petersburg" is a large-scale partnership project, which annually brings together more than 30 museums of the city (this time - 39 museums, as well as two galleries, a theater and a loft).

The festival organizers are: Center for Museum Development and "Gatchina" Museum-Reserve under the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg. Informational support for the project is provided by the Education Committee of St. Petersburg.

The festival has two target audiences: museum workers and citizens with children. The first category, owing to the festival, has an opportunity to share experiences, improve skills and build partnerships. And the second one - to enjoy the fruits of professional growth of the first ones.

Petersburg experience became a model for other cities in Russia, similar inter-museum projects have been organized in Moscow ("Family Trip") and Perm ("Ready, Set ... to the museum!").

The game- trip "I'm going to find you!" is a “calling card" of the festival. Each year, 20 museums developing a new series of gaming guides. During the festival, visitors get these guides for free and use them to explore the exhibitions on their own by completing the tasks of the festival’s mascot - Leo Ponaroshku .

Museums are brought together to compose six thematic routes. Each route is designed for travelers of a certain age (5-8, 9-12 or 13-15 years old), and each includes three or four museums. You can start your journey in any museum, visit them in any order; you can also go through the whole route, or visit one museum from each route.
