Russian regions: Exhibition “Fascinating Altai” in Saint-Petersburg

21 December 2013

December 19, 2013 at the Mikhailovsky Castle (the State Russian Museum, Saint-Petersburg) opens the exhibition "Fascinating Altai".

The exhibition is devoted to depicting the image of the Altai in the works of Russian art of the twentieth century. Majestic forests and mighty rivers, and boundless steppes, lakes, the golden grain fields and blue necklaces of Altai Mountains have long been a source of inspiration for artists. In each of the works the image of this region is perceived as an image of the world, full of harmony between man and nature.

The exposition consists of about 33 paintings, drawings and sculptures from the collection of the State Art Museum of Altai Krai.
