Russian language: Russia to create brand “Institute of A. S. Pushkin”

Foreign citizens will be able to learn the Russian language in Learning Centers, which will be created at the Institute of A. S. Pushkin. The promotion of this "brand" in the next year will be implemented by the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia.

"We expect during 2014 to start the establishment of such a brand as "Institute of A. S. Pushkin" on the basis of an existing institution (the A. S. Pushkin State Russian Language Institute). This is a very small institute in Moscow, which has always specialized in teaching Russian to foreigners. But the Pushkin Institutes in the form of programs, centers should ideally exist worldwide and in all major cities. And even if it does not happen immediately, we will work on it, - said the deputy head of the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia Benjamin Kaganov.

However, he stressed that the brand "Institution of A. S. Pushkin" should associate with "education in Russian" and be recognizable.
