Workshop “Methodology and practice of forming digital content of the Presidential Library” for specialists from Kazakhstan

From December 9-11, 2013 in the Presidential Library is held the workshop on “Methodology and practice of forming digital content of the Presidential Library”. The seminar is held for specialists of the Archive and library Services of the multifunctional scientific and analytical and humanitarian and educational state institution “Nazarbayev center” (Astana, Kazakhstan).

As part of the seminar will be considered issues related to acquisition and cataloguing of digital content of the Presidential Library on the history and theory of Russian statehood. Listeners will learn about the activity of the presidential Library as an integrator of digital resources of libraries, archives and museums, principles and approaches of forming digital content of the presidential library, criteria for selection of traditional and electronic documents, issues of forming the Fund on Collector’s principle.

As an independent fact will be considered the principles and methods of cataloging electronic resources in a format RUSMARC, linguistic issues to ensure an integrated assembly of the Presidential Library, method of forming an authority file subject of headings of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.

For specialists of the “Nazarbayev Center” will be organized a tour through the Presidential Library and the familiarity with the technology department of the library.
