To the 400th anniversary of the Romanovs: Exhibition, dedicated to the life and work of the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna Romanova-Kulikovskaya, in Novosibirsk

December 5, 2013 at the Novosibirsk State Art Museum opened an exhibition "Olga. To be and not seem. From the life of Grand Duchess ". The exhibition, which is organized jointly with the salon "Antikvariat on Nikolaevsky" tells about the life and work of the last Grand Duchess of the Romanov house Olga Alexandrovna Romanova-Kulikovskaya.

Olga Alexandrovna (1882-1969) - the youngest daughter of Emperor Alexander III, one of the few members of the imperial family, who escaped after the Bolshevik revolution. Known as an artist, she studied with teachers of the Petersburg Academy of Arts V. Makovsky, S. Zhukovsky, S. Vinogradov. During his life, Olga wrote more than 2,000 paintings, proceeds from the sale of which allowed her to not only support the family, but also to engage in charity. She died in Canada at age of 78.

The exhibition presents seven paintings by Olga Alexandrovna, as well as lithographs, porcelain and various items of the XIX-XX centuries, edition of the "Sun of Russia" in 1913, released to the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.

The motto of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna was an expression of "To be and not seem." The exhibition shows the image of her in several ways: as representatives of the House of Romanov, whose 400th anniversary is celebrated this year, as an artist, as a woman, and finally, as a citizen and patriot of Russia.
