Information technology and society: The largest Russian contest of IT-projects Web Ready took place

Russia’s largest contest of IT projects Web Ready was held late last week in the Hypercube "Skolkovo". The competition was first held under the informational support of the Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.

Web Ready contest started five years ago in Saint-Petersburg, has rapidly grown from a regional project to the federal level and today is international. In 2013, the competition was attended by a record number of participants: 715 projects from 21 countries. In the contest was considered an application of web developers and creators of mobile applications.

"The contest allows solving several important tasks: to identify and support promising projects to promote IT as an activity and to organize another platform of communication between developers and investors. Investors are included in the jury, and the projects have a good opportunity to be remembered", - said Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Mark Shmulevich.
