History of Russia: Documentary exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Chudovsky district from the Nazi invaders presented

January 29, 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Chudovsky district of the Novgorod region from Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.

On the eve of January 28, at the literary salon of the Chudovsky District Library was opened an exhibition of photographs and documents devoted to this important date.

Along with materials about the fighting, the exhibition presents award documents testifying to the heroism and courage of the soldiers and commanders of the Red Army liberated Chudovsky land from the enemy.

A special section of the exhibition is devoted to the crimes of the Nazis in the territory of the Chudovsky district during its occupation and the first steps of the Soviet government to revive the native land, incinerated with war.

The opening of the exhibition was preceded by extensive research work of its organizers – specialists of the Chudovsky Local Lore Museum - in the archives and libraries of Veliky Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Moscow, in the Internet to identify unique documents of the war years.
