
Society and culture: Exhibition “The Russian in Russian landscape” in Astrakhan
January 24, 2014 in the branch of the P. M. Dogadin Astrakhan State Gallery “House-Museum of B. M. Kustodiev” opens an exhibition “The Russian in Russian landscape”.
The National Russian landscape was conceived in the 20s of the XIX century. One of its founders is A. G. Venetsianov reproduced in his paintings unpretentious village views. The P. M. Dogadin Astrakhan Picture Gallery cherishes many works of Russian and Soviet painters made in this genre. 20 of them are on display.
The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to trace the evolution of the genre in the national art, to expand their knowledge about the development of Russian painting. The earliest of the exhibited works is created in 1833.
A separate block presents works of “the most Russian”, according to experts, landscape – Isaac Levitan. The works by landscape painting of the Soviet period are interested.
