Society and culture: The X anniversary International Scientific Conference “Icon in Russian Literature and Culture” in Moscow

January 23-24, 2014 the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of the Russian Abroad (Moscow) holds the X anniversary International Scientific Conference “Icon in the Russian Literature and Culture”.

The main topics, which are supposed to be discussed at meetings: theology of the icon, iconology, iconography, aesthetics of the icon, the icon and the word, the icon in the literature of the Russian abroad, the word in the icon, literature about the icon, iconicity of the verbal art image, eonotopos in the literature.  

2013 was the year of the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. 2014 will be marked by the 700th anniversary of St. Sergius, abbot of the Russian Land. The conference will also include reports dedicated to these two topics.
