World culture: Masterpiece by Rubens presented in the Southern Urals

The exhibition “Return of masterpiece. Peter Paul Rubens “Penitent Maria with sister Marfa” from the collection of the Irbit State Museum of Fine Arts” is opening on January 23, 2014 in the Chelyabinsk Museum of Fine Arts.

The painting, which till 2012 was considered to be a copy, and after the most complicated research and expertise, was recognized to be the work of the great artists of the XVII century Peter Paul Rubens, with the participation of its outstanding students - Anthony Van Dyck and Jacob Jordaens, - exactly for one month it will be on display at the Chelyabinsk State Museum of Fine Arts.

The exposition will also include the photo chronicle of the restoration process and literature on the work of Peter Paul Rubens and the era of Baroque.
