Monuments of book culture: The Gospel with interpretation of Theophylact of Ohrid included in the State register of unique documents of the Archival collections in Russia

The National Archive of the Republic of Karelia successfully enters the Year of Culture. By decision of the Central experts-screening committee at the State Archive from December 24, 2013, the State Register of unique documents of the Archival Fund of the Russian Federation under the number 511 is included with the gospel interpretations of Theophylact of Ohrid (mid of the 16th century), carefully preserved by the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia.

According to ownership records the Gospel in the 16th century was in one of the oldest monasteries in Karelia – at the Murom Dormition Monastery.

The description of this document was included in the 2010 in the edition "Monuments of antiquity book of the Russian North: Manuscript Collections of 15-20 centuries in public repositories of the Republic of Karelia".

Currently, in the State register of unique archives collections of the Russian Federation are included 7 documents stored in the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia and which are proud of the Republic of Karelia:

- Gospel with interpretation of Theophylact of Ohrid (mid of 16th century).

- Gospel didactic 1569, printed by Ivan Fedorov in Zabłudów.

- Solemn late of the 15th - early 16th century.

- Apostle 1552. Legend of Acts of the Apostles.

- Works of Hippolytus, Pope (the Legend of the Christ and Antichrist and the interpretation of the book of Daniel) of late 15th - early 16th century.

- Ephrem the Syrian. Parenesis of late 15th - early 16th century.

- Psalms with examination of late 15th century.
