World culture: Exhibition “Ukraine – Russia. Two geniuses” in Kiev

The Year of Culture of the Russian Federation was launched at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kiev opened the exhibition "Ukraine - Russia. Two geniuses". The exposition is devoted to the 200th anniversary of T. G. Shevchenko and M. Y. Lermontov. Among the works - 130 prints of the XIX-XX centuries from the collection of Vladimir Belikov: iconography of Shevchenko and Lermontov, illustrations of their works, a portrait gallery of contemporaries.

Russian collector Vladimir Belikov introduced the works to guests and journalists. "In this exhibition, it was not possible to fully show the life and work of two geniuses of Slavic culture - Taras Shevchenko and Mikhail Lermontov, because it is an endless topic. But I managed to immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of the XIX century. To show with whom they communicated, where they lived and how they were doing", - said V. Belikov.

The exhibition will run till February 22, 2014.
