Russian regions: Exhibition “In the land of wonders. Specially protected natural areas of the Chelyabinsk region” presented

January 14, 2014 in the exhibition hall of the State Archive of the Chelyabinsk region was opened the exhibition "In the land of wonders. Protected areas of the Chelyabinsk region". The theme of the exhibition is devoted to the 80th anniversary of the region.

The exposition presents the most famous natural monuments of the Southern Urals: Ilmensky reserve, Arkaim, Taganay, Turgoyak, Zyuratkul, Serpievsky cave deg. The exhibition tells the history of the discovery of these unique places, pioneers, the current state of natural objects, myths and legends of Yuzhnouralskaya protected corners of the earth.

The exposition of archival documents is complemented with rare items such as a personal microscope of N. V. Timofeev-Resovsky, vintage surveying instruments, archaeological finds, stuffed birds listed in the Red Book, acting devices of alpine weather station in Taganay, as well as numerous examples of precious and semiprecious stones and minerals and much more.
