World history: Exhibition “Episodes of the history in stamps” in Moscow

From January 13 to 31, 2014 the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad is hosting an exhibition "Episodes of the history in stamps: From collections of Russian foreign grantors of the House of Russian Abroad".

The exhibition presents visitors that part of the museum and archival collection of the House of Russian Abroad, which still did not attract special attention - philatelic. Meanwhile, stamps - small witnesses of bygone eras, disappeared States, great historical events – are not only rarities, but they can tell about the features occurring in the country and the world events that illustrate the change of political regimes, demonstrate features of decoration of its time - featuring a bright personality of "postal graphics".

At the exhibition, visitors will see issues of national and the county mail of Russia until 1917, local issue of the Civil War (Don, Kuban, Ukraine, Far East), who failed to get into the appeal of the stamp, "fantastic" and private mail issues, charitable stamps of abroad, donated to the House of the Russian Abroad.
