To the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi: Exhibition “Meet the Olympiad” in the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve

In the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve (Moscow) opened the exhibition "Meet the Olympiad. To the XXII Winter Olympic Games "Sochi-2014"". Of the museum's exhibits are demonstrated exhibits from the Soviet era, dedicated to sports theme - tapestries, copyright glass, and jewelry from metal, leather work. They are made in the second half of the XX century, the most important sporting events of the country - the Games of the USSR and the Olympics-80. The works are distinguished by originality and constructive composite solutions, subtle color understanding, knowledge of the material and its possibilities.

The history of acquisition of these works in the museum's collection is interesting. The sports subject has always been of great importance in the art of the Soviet Union. There were conducted special annual union and republican, zoned thematic exhibition "Physical Culture and Sport in the visual arts". These exhibitions, along with painting, sculpture, graphics, master of arts and crafts created beautiful tapestries, sports trophies, awards original glass, jewelry (prizes), books (Chronicle) of leather for sports clubs, and etc. The best works of the state procurement Commission were acquired by the museum - so has a magnificent collection of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve.

Another feature of the exhibition - it presents works of famous internationally acclaimed artists from various schools of the former Soviet Union. Each of these schools was unique because it retains and develops the artistic traditions of their people. The Tsaritsyno Museum offers modern audience to get acquainted with the achievements of artists of the Soviet era.
