Society and culture: The International Youth Creative Competition “Word For Us!” as part of the action “The Year of Culture of the Russian World”

In 2014, which is declared the year of Culture in Russia, the Russkiy Mir Foundation holds the International action “The Year of Culture of the Russian World”. Its main goal is to attract attention of the Russians and compatriots abroad to the treasury of the Russian culture, the history of creation and humanistic senses of masterpieces of the Russian literature and art. The action welcomes everyone interested in culture and art of the Russian World, who strives for creativity, knowledge, communication and intercultural dialogue.

An important part of the “year of Culture of the Russian World” will be the II International Youth Creative Competition “Word For Us!”. The participants can be students of Russian and foreign educational institutions, art groups and art studios, University students, listeners of the Russian language courses, as well as Russian centers and Cabinet of the Russian World.

The competition is designed for different age groups; the works are accepted till September 15, 2014 in three areas: drawings, compositions and essays. All the texts should be written in Russian.

The results of the competition in October 2014 will be declared by the authoritative jury, which is composed of respected educators, scientists, writers, cultural workers and representatives of the public. The best competition works will be published at the informational resources of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the partner mass media, their authors will get diplomas and special prizes. The winners of the competition will be invited by the Foundation to the VIII Assembly of the Russian World in Sochi on November 3-4, 2014.
