Society and the youth: The National Youth Project “The Great Forgotten War” starts on Poklonnaya Hill

February 25, 2014 on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow is held the solemn opening of the National Youth Project “The Great Forgotten War”, organized by “Rospatriotcenter” with the support of the military-historical society and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The project is aimed at the reviving of the memory of the exploits and heroes of the First World War, the 100th anniversary of which is celebrated in 2014.

The opening ceremony of the project and the official start of the action “100 years of the First World War” is held in the hall of Glory of the Museum. As part of the opening is held the laying of garlands to the Eternal Flame on the Memorial complex “Poklonnaya Hill” and the issue of the “Dove of Peace” in the memory of the victims of the First World War, the opening if the exhibition and thematic sections.

The opening ceremony is attended by members of the Government of Russia and the deputies of the State Duma, public figures, journalists and scientists, government representatives of Youth of the subjects of the Russian Federation, centers of patriotic education, patriotic clubs.
