History of Russia: Exhibition “About the War, the World, the Native Land” in Moscow

The Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War (Moscow) hosts the exhibition “About the War, the World, the Native Land”.

The exhibition features works dedicated to the war, feats of ordinary soldiers and distinguished generals, partisans captured in works of art of the wartime and postwar period.

The greatness of the national heroism is presented at the exhibition not only in the category of fighting, but also in the portrayal of life, with its hardships and tribulations, joys and hopes. A considerable number of works of art is dedicated to humble workers in factories, fields, hospitals.

The image of the fighting Motherland is depicted in landscape works, which keep terrible print of war, created by artists in the war and postwar time. Other paintings depict liberation of occupied cities, the joy of the meeting with friends and relatives. Separate sections are devoted to peaceful life and native land. 

A significant place in the exposition takes a picturesque and sculptural portrait. These are portraits of prominent military leaders and commanders, natural-documentary portraits of partisans, pilots, doctors. 

The exhibition is held with the support of the Russian Historical Society and it will run until June 24,
