Memorable dates of Russia: Exhibition dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in Pskov

In the Military Historical Museum of the Pskov region opened an exhibition devoted to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

According to the director of the museum Peter Grinchuk, the exhibition will feature flags, banners, pennants fighting, jack military units and ships of the Soviet army, the army of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the exhibition has been enriched with many exhibits dedicated to the liberation from German occupation of the Pskov region. In particular, there was presented a large collection of items supplied to the USSR under Lend-Lease.

A separate exhibition shows the life period of the Pskov region after the liberation from Nazi invaders in 1944. Here you can see the items converted from military things for everyday life, a large collection of documents and materials to restore individual buildings, homes and more.

The plans for museum specialists are the opening in the hall of military uniform section on the First World War.

In 2014-2015, the Military Historical Museum of the Pskov region will implement two major events in the framework of the project "Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of Russia", associated with the creation of the exhibition "Ostrovsky region in the history of the Pskov land" and the fortification of complex arrangement of the old border line "Ostrovsky fortified".
