World history: Events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War in the Vologda Regional Library

22 February 2014

The Vologda Regional Scientific Library in 2014 is preparing a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War.

It is planned to publish a book about Vologda, award-winning St. George. In addition, the website of the regional library will have electronic resource dedicated to Vologodians - participants of the First World War: a full-text database of articles from bibliographic references, links on the card index site of the Military Historical Society "Conquest, but unforgotten". In September, the library will host a conference "Citizens of Vologda in the First World War".

Library specialists encourage all Vologodians to take part in the preparation of a database of heroes and the participants of the First World War. Anyone can send photos of relatives in uniform, and the library workers will determine where they served, which titles they had (it is possible to learn a military uniform) and whether there were awarded. All data will add the site index card "Conquest, but unforgotten".
