"The appearance of the monument to Prince Vladimir is considered among the activities to the memorable date - the millennium anniversary of his death, which will be celebrated in 2015. The State working group to prepare the commemorative events is created on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and is headed by the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian President in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov", - told the newspaper "Izvestia" a working group member, former Deputy Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin.

The places for the monument were discussed by the organizing committee of the Russian Orthodox Church last week when considering an action plan after the demise of the Millennium of Baptist of Rus’.

In ROC noted that "the monument will be made by analogy with the memorial of Prince Vladimir erected on Vladimir Hill in Kiev, and on making it most likely will work the same sculptor, who created a monument to Patriarch Hermogenes in the Alexander Garden in Moscow, - Salavat Scherbakov".
