17 February 2014

To the 25th anniversary of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, in Kirov opened the Museum of Military Glory, created on the basis of materials from the collection of the Local Lore Museum.

The first exhibition project “Pages of Martial Valor” is dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the soldiers-internationalists who fought in Afghanistan, at the North Caucasus and other hot spots.

A large section of the exhibition is devoted to Kirov residents-participants of the war in Afghanistan; it was created with the active participation of veterans. As exhibits Afghans handed over to the museum documents, photographs, letters, equipment, weapons, personal belongings.

February 15 in Russian was celebrated the Day of Memory of the Russian, carrying out their internationalist duty outside the Fatherland, and primarily in Afghanistan in 1979-1989.
