World culture: Exhibition “Zinaida Serebryakova. Paris period. Alexander and Ekaterina Serebrakovs” in Moscow
From February 13 to March 30, 2014 at the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) is held an exhibition "Zinaida Serebryakova. Paris period. Alexander and Ekaterina Serebryakovs" from the collection of the French Foundation - Fondation Serebriakoff.
Zinaida Serebryakova (1884-1967), a representative of the famous family Benoit - Lancere, a student of a well-known painter O. Braz, belonged to the artist -miriskusnik of the second wave. In her work, stylistically close to neo academician direction, she created the most charming women's and children's images in Russian painting.
The exhibition is devoted to the French period of life of Serebryakova - from 1924 to 1967. First is Russia are shown works kept in the Paris studio of the artist, including the famous Moroccan cycles of 1928 and 1932.
Along with the canvases and graphic sheets of Serebryakova are shown works of her children - artists Alexander Borisovich (1907-1995) and Ekaterina Borisovna (1913) Serebryakovs.
