World history: Exhibition “Russia – Europe, Europe – Russia”, dedicated to the foreign campaigns of the Russian army, in Moscow
February 8, 2014 at the Museum "Kutuzov Hut" opened the exhibition "Russia - Europe, Europe - Russia. Subject of foreign campaigns of the Russian army in arts and crafts".
Foreign liberation campaigns of the Russian Army of 1813-1814 brought endless wars ravaged Europe long-awaited peace. Subject triumph of Russian arms is reflected in the works of Russian arts and crafts.
The exhibition "Russia - Europe, Europe - Russia" presents works of fine plastic, porcelain, glass and plaster from the Museum-panorama "Battle of Borodino".
Medallions made by model of F. P. Tolstoy, became the most popular works of the masters in the XIX century and are considered to be sculpted illustrations for Russian victories in the battles against the French army of Napoleon.
On an example of items displayed at the exhibition it can be seen how works of decorative art of the XIX century combined functionality and description of historical realities, the attraction to the ancient forms and exquisitely expensive decoration.
The exhibition will run till March 30, 2014.
