To the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi: Moscow celebrates the opening of the Olympics with a large-scale exhibition

February 7, 2014, on the day of the opening ceremony of the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, as part of the Cultural Olympiad "Sochi 2014" in Moscow opened the exhibition "Season of Victory!". The large-scale exhibition dedicated to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi is located in the city in center on Manezh Square and will be open to all comers until 2 March 2014. The project is organized by curatorial team of museum exhibition association "Arena" with the support of Moscow Government and the Department of Culture of Moscow.

Almost for a month the space on Manezh Square turns into an architectural object resembling the outline of a classic sports arena. The documentary archival materials, video and photo chronicle, memorial items and objects of contemporary art will reveal the beauty of the Olympic competitions.

Their collection of historical artifacts and unique items were presented by the State Sports Museum, the State Historical Museum, and the Fashion Museum. A panoramic thematic exhibition includes sports equipment from different years, Russia's only ski collection of Olympic champions, sets of Olympic medals and coins, outfits and tracksuits outstanding athletes, and many other Olympic artifacts. Guests of the exhibition will also be able to see rare newsreel footage and photographs from the archives of information agency "RIA Novosti".
